Sustainability Commitment

Cow & Coconut are committed to sustainable business operations and practices

Here at Cow & Coconut, we practice what we preach. We’ve made every effort to use kinder alternatives for our sourcing, marketing, and shipping operations. Not only do we feel good about our choices, but you can too!

Parcel Delivery

Australia Post

Primarily, we partner with Australia Post for your parcel delivery. Just like us, Australia Post is committed to sustainable operations. They are 100% carbon neutral, achieving this feat by reducing operation emissions where possible and carbon offsetting the difference.

Carbon offset projects are spread across Australia and the world and aim to support environmental outcomes, along with positive cultural and social effects. Local initiatives include native bush regeneration and fire management projects with Aboriginal-led NGOs.

Sendle

Carving the way for Australia Post, Sendle was Australia’s first 100% carbon neutral delivery service. Despite being competitors, Sendle engaged in initiatives to help Australia Post meet its carbon goals!

As a certified B corporation, Sendle meets the highest standard of transparency, accountability, ethics, and environmental performance. They keep their emissions at a bare minimum, with additional offsets through impactful projects via South Pole. Charitable projects have included collaboration with creators to fundraise for bushfire relief.

Packaging

To bundle up your eco-friendly products, we prioritize the reuse of boxes, from our own deliveries or gathered from family and friends, to extend their life and reduce waste. Our sourcing of new boxes is from PackQueen in Melbourne, all made in Australia from recycled materials.

For smaller orders, compostable satchels from HeapsGood are used. These sustainable mailers will find their way into your home compost, instead of landfill.

Reused and recycled packaging for safely sending your order

It doesn't stop there! Open up your order to find it safe and sound in eco-friendly packaging, which will either be:

  • recycled paper wrap, or
  • cornstarch void fill pellets, which will dissolve in water, are also compostable and are safe for kids and pets.

To bring it all together, we’ve gotten rid of a sneaky eco-enemy, plastic sticky tape. Instead, we use a packing tape that is plant-based and home compostable.

Print Materials

For all things printing, we utilise the low-impact services of Canva. Canva was the first Australian company to pave the way and sign the worldwide Climate Pledge.

Canva is currently 100% carbon neutral, however, their groundbreaking sustainability policies have them well on track to be climate positive by 2023.

We use Canva’s services for stickers, brochures, thank you cards, and business cards. Every order we make plants one tree and becomes part of the more than three million trees already committed.

Carbon Positive Partner: Ecologi

Cow & Coconut not only limits our own impact, but we also strive to make positive contributions to the environment.

We’ve partnered with Ecologi to contribute to over 6 million trees being planted across the globe. Please visit our ever-growing Cow & Coconut forest any time.

Ecologi carbon positive partner supporting eco projects like planting trees within mangroves

Many of our trees are planted within vital mangroves. These forests absorb carbon at high rates, and their large root networks are resilient to the ever-changing environment, making them crucial carbon sinks.

All projects are locally and ethically sourced, supporting the community and the economy in these areas.

Textile Recycling Partner: UPPAREL

Committed to enabling you to lead a sustainable lifestyle, Cow & Coconut are partnering with UPPAREL, Australasia's leaders in textile recovery and recycling.

Keep your old and ragged textiles out of landfill giving them a new life, either by being reused, upcycled or recycled. To thank you for your incredible recycling efforts, you'll receive a $25 voucher* to spend with us online or in person.

Recycling

We do everything we can to reduce the materials we use and their environmental impact in our daily operations. Any leftover materials aren't wasted. Cardboard, paper, plastics, and compostables all leave Cow & Coconut to recirculate, contributing to the reduction of unsustainable products.
